A rare Bembe Elanda mask from DRC Congo. This mask represents the face of a spirit of nature with multiple sets of enlarged eyes. These huge and impressive masks were worn during Bembe circumcision rituals. This is a fine example of a rare Bembe mask showing good signs of age and use. Please see a similar example in 'The Tribal Arts Of Africa' J B Bacquart pg.153
