A superb tribal mask sourced from the 'Teke / Bateke' tribe, DRC Congo. This is a classic example of the style of the Teke. Teke masks can be large circular masks with colourful features and design that allude to the sun. This mask is used during agricultural festivites and is held in front of the tribal dancers face with rope.
