A great example of a Southern Dan Tribal mask. This mask shows a clear division between the forehead and cheek areas emphasized by eye slits which extend to the temples. The vertical welt on the forehead is a characteristic feature of all work created by carvers associated with the 'We.'
This mask is in great condition for its age, there is a chip on the left side of the face which can be seen on photos.
