An magnificent example of a Songye statue / figure from The Democratic Republic of Congo. This impressive female statue is used by the Songye tribe people to protect their village, help with fertility and keep evil forces and spirits away. This statue serves as an object of power. There is a small chip to the base as you can see from the photos but for its age, this statue is in great condition.
