An incredible extremely large African Cane from the Baule Tribe, Cote d' Ivoire. This superbly carved cane is a prestige object and confers status to its owner. There is a great example of a Baule Cane in the book 'The Tribal Arts Of Africa' J B Bacquart, pg 49. This is a superb example of a Baule Cane showing good signs of age and use.
