A Superb Dogon Door from the 'Dogon' Tribe, Mali. Dogon Doors are used by the Dogon people as doors or shutters to their granaries where millet as well as personal objects and family shrines were kept. The carved figures on the door represent ancestors and the breasts are a symbol of nurture for the village. The doors are in three panels which are attached by large staples and nails. This is a superb example of a Dogon Door and is in great condition for its age.
